About Us
Decontamination and High level disinfection
Decon-O-Logic is a division of Aqua Ecologic who is specialised in manufacturing stable chlorine dioxide solutions. Aqua Ecologic focusses on liquid applications for disinfection of all kinds of water. Based on our experience in manufacturing stable liquid CD solutions, we reinvented the technology to develop a chlorine dioxide fumigation technique that ensures high material compatibility with no restrictions on available decontamination volume.
The core activity of Decon-O-Logic is delivering onsite and offsite decontamination or high level disinfection by CD fumigation. Our focus is to produce and to apply the highest quality CD solutions in accordance to industry’s most stringent decontamination and safety demands.
For mobile applications, a cooperation has been set up with ClorDiSys Solutions Inc., who has many years of expertise in the CD decontamination services for routine or single-time events in the United States of America.

1814 : Discovery of Chlorine Dioxide
Sir Humphrey Davy, a British chemist, had discovered the Chlorine Dioxide (CD) molecule. Although he fully understood the chemistry,
he was probably not aware of the enabled possibilities: CD will prove to be more effective at disinfection than any other comparable disinfectant.
1944 : CD is introduced into a drinking water treatment
To mitigate taste and odor problems, CD was introduced into a water treatment plant at Niagara Falls, N.Y., USA. Other municipalities soon followed. Apart from the better taste and absence of odour, the microbial water quality improved due to CD’s inherent disinfecting properties.
1950’s : CD is introduced in Brussels drinking water production
In 1956, Brussels (Belgium, Europe) switched from chlorine to CD for drinking water disinfection. In the 1950s, CD usage in water treatment increases remarkably. Moreover, yet another important advantage of CD was discovered. CD destroys and removes biofilm and algal slime, both possible safe nesting harbours for harmful microbes.
1967 : EPA (USA) registers CD as disinfectant
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA, USA) registered an aqueous formulation of CD as sanitizer and disinfectant. Even though CD aggressively attacks pathogens, it is extremely safe for human and environment.
1970’s - early 1980’s : EPA recommends CD for water treatment
The EPA began recommending CD instead of chlorine for water treatment, amongst others due to the absence of harmful disinfection byproducts.
1988 : EPA (USA) registers CD as steriliser
The EPA registered CD as a sterilizer. Hence, CD is declared both safe and effective for usage in hospitals, healthcare facilities, and laboratories.
2000 : CD fumigation has become a common technology
In USA, CD fumigation has become a common technology for decontamination in the healthcare industry, a.o. against Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs).
2001 : CD is used against the Anthrax attacks
CD was the principal agent used in the decontamination of buildings in the United States after the 2001 Anthrax attacks.
2005 : CD is used after hurricane Catarina
Hurricane Catarina (America) destroyed major parts of New Orleans, Louisiana and the surrounding Gulf Coast. CD fumigation was used to eradicate dangerous mold from houses inundated by the flood water
2014 : Decon-O-Logic starts Cd fumigation optimalisation
DeconOlogic (Belgium) develops and improves the CD fumigation technology. Our customers benefit from high level sterilisation 2.0 by means of fully optimised CD fumigation. The technology overcomes any restriction towards microbial contaminants or towards volumes to be treated. Our CD fumigation is safe for materials and does not leave any harmful residuals.
